If you wear traditional dentures, then you know about the mess, inconvenience, and embarrassment that can accompany them. If you’re frustrated with traditional dentures that slip or fall out while you’re eating or speaking, then the All-on-4 dentures could be the solution for you. If you’re interested in getting All-on-4 implants in Gilbert, please call our office to schedule a consultation.

Why Are All-on-4 Implants Popular?

All-on-4 dentures are permanently inserted into the jawbone through the use of four implants in each jaw. The All-on-4 implant system can be installed on both the upper and lower jaws, so they’ll look, function, and feel like your natural teeth and no one will know that you’re wearing dentures. Whether your teeth are missing due to age, gum disease, trauma, or decay, the All-on-4 system can provide you with a mouth full of beautiful teeth that require no special maintenance. You’ll care for your All-on-4 implants just as you would your natural teeth, with good daily oral hygiene and regular dental visits.

Is the Procedure for All-on-4 Dental Implants Painful?

Placing All-on-4 implants is no more painful than any other dental procedure, and any subsequent pain or swelling is only temporary and can usually be relieved through over-the-counter pain medications. You’ll be lightly sedated during the procedure and will be given aftercare instructions on how to manage any residual pain or swelling. After the incisions have healed, there should be no discomfort or pain from your All-on-4 procedure.

What Is the All-on-4 Before-and-After Process?

When you come to Precision Dental for your initial consultation, your dentist will examine your mouth and gums to determine the best treatment protocol for you. If you need additional dental procedures, they’ll be done at this time. Otherwise, you’ll be lightly sedated and then your implants will be inserted. We’ll place two implants in the back of your mouth and two in the front. The rear implants will be installed at a 45-degree angle, which provides significantly more strength to the implant and usually prevents the need for a bone graft. After we’ve surgically implanted the posts, we’ll install a temporary denture and give you time to heal.

Since the posts are made of titanium-alloy, your jawbone should readily accept them through a process known as osseointegration. When that’s been completed, you’ll return to our office to have your dentures permanently affixed to the posts. Your denture will match the shape and color of your natural teeth, so no one will know that it’s a denture. Some patients are good candidates for getting All-on-4 implants in a single office visit, so ask us about our teeth-in-a-day procedure.

What’s the Cost for All-on-4 Implants?

Your All-on-4 dental implants cost will be unique to you and will be based on the number of additional procedures you might need, the type of material, and your dental insurance coverage. During your initial consultation with our Gilbert dentist, you’ll receive a detailed breakdown of the cost of All-on 4 implants. If you have questions, our helpful team members will be happy to answer them.

How Does the All-on-4 Procedure Differ from the Dental Implant Process?

One of the primary differences between the two is the length of time it takes for the entire process. Traditional implants use as many as 10 implants per full dental arch, whereas the All-on-4 procedure uses only four implants, so it’s less invasive. Since the rear implants in the All-on-4 procedure are installed at a 45-degree angle, they’re much stronger, so there’s usually no need for a bone graft.

Aren’t All-on-4 Implants the Same as Traditional Dentures?

All-on-4 implants are significantly different from traditional dentures, which sit on top of the gums and are affixed only by an adhesive. Because they provide no structural support to the jawbone or face, you can experience facial distortion and sagging. All-on-4 dental implants, however, are surgically inserted into your jawbone and become part of your bone structure, helping to maintain the proper alignment of your jawbone.
